Arab Orient Insurance Co. was established in 1996 as a public shareholding Jordanian company. The company joined the Gulf Insurance Group in 2013, adopting the name Gulf Insurance Group - Jordan (GIG – Jordan). The Group is considered one of the largest and most diverse insurance groups in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with its headquarters in Kuwait. GIG – Jordan has always been committed to the development of its insurance services, thus becoming one of the most significant entrepreneurial companies in the insurance sector. In recognition of its performance and stability, AM Best, the global credit rating agency, upgraded the company’s Financial Strength Rating from B++ (Good) to A- (Excellent), and its Issuer Credit Rating from bbb+ to a-, both with a Stable Outlook. This marks the highest credit rating achieved by any insurance company operating in Jordan, positioning GIG-Jordan as the first to reach this level within the local market.
