open motor accident procedure

Please find below the documents and procedures that are required for opening a comprehensive insurance claim:

 

If the Police Report is available, then the following documents are requested:

 

  • Notification of the accident scheme
  • A copy of the vehicle’s license.
  • The driver’s license.
  • A copy of the vehicle owner’s identity card.

 

In the case that the accident is against an unknown driver, the following documents are requested:

 

  • A certified report from Traffic Management.

  • A copy of the vehicle’s license.

  • A copy of the vehicle owner’s identity card.

 

In the case of theft, the following documents are requested:

 

  • A theft report issued by the Police Station.

  • Vehicle license or explanations from the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department (DVLD) in case the entire vehicle is stolen.

  • A certified Public Prosecutor’s decision when six months have passed without the vehicle being found.

  • A judicial undertaking from the Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Department (DVLD) before receipt of the compensation.

In the case of vehicle fire, the following documents are requested:

 

  • A report issued by the Police Station.

  • Civil Defense report.

  • Criminal Investigation report.

  • Public Prosecutor’s decision.
