In a significant step towards enhancing corporate social responsibility and protecting the marine environment in Jordan, a sponsorship and strategic partnership agreement has been signed between the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) and Gulf Insurance Group – Jordan (GIG – Jordan).

Under this agreement, GIG – Jordan will undertake the responsibility of cleaning and maintaining a designated beach in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, in coordination with its authority. The company will also provide specialized training for a number of its employees to obtain Scuba Diving certification, enabling them to monitor and clean coral reefs and periodically assess their health.

Dr. Ali Wazaney, CEO of GIG – Jordan, stated:

“We believe in the importance of corporate social responsibility in environmental protection and community service. This partnership with the Royal Marine Conservation Society, a leading institution in this field, marks an important step towards enhancing the private sector’s commitment to preserving Jordan’s ecological heritage and ensuring its sustainability for future generations. It also aims to enhance environmental awareness and knowledge of marine ecosystems.”

Mr. Khaled Al Kurdi, Secretary-General and Acting Executive Director of JREDS, added:

“We are proud to sign this agreement with GIG – Jordan, which comes as part of JREDS’s efforts to engage and empower the local community in the conservation of the marine environment through educational programs and awareness. This partnership also integrates nature conservation programs with social and economic development.”

It is noteworthy that the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan enjoys a prestigious reputation and is currently recognized as a leading institution at the local, national, regional, and international levels.
